TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Learning Agreement with Wrecks And Reefs Diving Instructor \Team

Diver training courses are meant to be fun and enjoyable for all concerned (both students and instructors), but like any form of learning, you will need to invest some time and effort reading, studying and also completing assigned tasks. These terms and conditions between you the student and the Wrecks and Reefs instructional team, regarding our mutual responsibilities in diving programmes form this learning agreement.

Student Responsibilities

The student agrees to study independently as specified by the instructor. In general, this means that BEFORE each knowledge development session, the student will:

  • Watch the appropriate assigned portion of the course video.
  • Read the appropriate assigned section of the course manual, and complete the exercise questions within the section
  • Complete the appropriate Knowledge Review to be handed in at the start of each class.  Failure to do so will exclude the student from taking part in the rest of the programme.
  • Attend on time all knowledge development sessions, confined water sessions and open water dives as agreed by the group.

In addition, the student agrees to:

  • Follow all course procedures as set forth by the instructor.
  • Ask questions about anything not understood.

If the student fails to arrive on time or is unprepared for any session, it may exclude the student from the course/s and arrangements will be made to attend another course at a later date. The student will be responsible for any additional costs and/or inconveniences this causes. In scheduling and determining additional costs, the Wrecks & Reefs staff agree to give every reasonable consideration to unforeseen events, such as family emergencies, that lead to this situation.

Instructor \ Staff Responsibilities

The course instructor and staff agree to:

  • Be ready to start the class as scheduled.
  • Provide a positive learning environment in which to master the course objectives.
  • Answer the student's questions to the best of their ability.
  • Assist the student through learning challenges.

If the student completes all course work as assigned, arrives for sessions promptly and otherwise follows directions for learning given by the instructor, the Wrecks & Reefs Instructional team accepts responsibility for learning challenges. Course objectives must be met before the student is certified.
