Recompression Chamber Awareness Course

recompression chamber awareness

Why Recompression Chamber Awareness?Recompression Chamber Awareness Course

Dry diving is exactly as it sounds.

A hyperbaric chamber is the perfect environment to test a diver's ability at depth, but in the safe, water-free environment that it offers.

DCI often results from a diver's inability to handle nitrogen narcosis. So if a diver, for the first time, does experience that surreal feeling they can panic and risk DCI.

A dry dive can prepare a diver mentally for what can happen underwater.

A dry dive is also a great opportunity for technical divers to test their computers or Dive Cameras.

This course is conducted at the London Diving Chamber, St. Johns Wood, London.

What do I need to start?
What will I do?
  • This is where a diver descends in a dry chamber to 50 metres depth, breathing air.Recompression Chamber Awareness Course
  • The diver will experience nitrogen narcosis
  • It is safer to experience this for the first time in a dry clinical setting, to see how you will react when you do it for real in the open water
  • The chamber can accommodate up to 6 dry divers
  • Any kit or computer can be tested at the same time
  • Fit to dive medical certification will need to be seen if there are any medical issues with the diver
  • If the diver has not got certification, it can be done at LDC before the dry dive, with notice
How much does it cost?
£35.00 for the Dry Dive (without Certification)
£95.00 for the Dry Dive (with Certification and RCA Course)
