gildenburgh

Gildenburgh lake has varying depths from 1m to 22m. Parking facilities are good and the wait for air refills is not too bad.

Planning permission has been granted for a £7 million re-development of the Gildenburgh Water estate. The 46-acre site will be enhanced with the construction of new diving facilities, a major social complex, and hotel, as well as a conference and training centre.

"Wrecks" include a volvo truck, double decker bus, shorts aircraft, jet provost, coach and barge.

CYLINDER INFORMATION

  • TEST DATE – first test due 2.5 years from date of manufacture. 5 yearly intervals between hydrostatic tests, with visual tests every 2.5 years. We will refuse to fill any cylinder that is out of test.
  • CONTENTS STICKERS – it’s a legal requirement to display a sticker with the cylinder contents on it. We will not fill cylinders without one.
  • MARKINGS – test and original markings must be legible, and if repainting, you should not obscure these marks.
  • O2 CLEANING – if your cylinder has been 02 cleaned, check the date is still valid (it is good for 12 months only). We will not fill any out of date cylinder with nitrox. If you have an out-of-date nitrox cylinder, you must ask for clean air.
  • IDENTIFICATION – cylinders look similar. Without making illegal markings, identify your cylinder in such a way that you recognise it from others.

REFUSAL TO FILL

The compressor operator can refuse to fill any cylinder that he has reason to believe is unsafe or illegal. He will label the cylinder and leave it unfilled on the empty rack.

If you require an explanation, please wait until he has finished filling other cylinders, and he will be happy to explain the problem.

If this happens, please remember that the problem is yours, as the cylinder owner, not ours, as the cylinder fillers.

We will not tolerate arguments or abuse of our staff at the air station. We may refer your query/dispute to our senior engineer if he is available, and his decision will be final. Reception staff have no authority to override his decision, and will simply refund your air payment, or offer you a rental option if available.

TWIN CYLINDERS

Ideally remove all equipment from your twin cylinders prior to leaving them for filling.
But if you prefer to leave equipment attached, you must detach the 1st stage of one regulator, carry the complete kit to the compressor operator and position it for filling. Stand outside the air station whilst waiting, but remain at the air station while the cylinders are filled and remove them yourself from the filling point.

The compressor operator will not handle any twin cylinder set that has other equipment attached to it. No liability will be accepted by the operator or Dive In for any loss or damage to equipment left attached to twin cylinders, attended or unattended, whilst at the air station.
