speysideSpeyside is, without a doubt, still home to the best coral growth to be found in Tobago , laying claim to the world's largest Brain Coral. Unfortunately, Manta Rays are no longer sighted with the same frequency as in the nineties. Keleston DrainIt is here that the world's largest Brain Coral is to be found, set on the reef edge at a depth of fifty feet, this specimen boasts a diameter of sixteen feet and rises twelve feet high. It is estimated to be more than 500 years old.. Other items of interest include a colony of Garden Eels and the rarely found Cherub Fish. Black Jack HoleShelving coral is the centerpiece for this lush coral slope with clouds of creole Wrasse mid water. Keep your eyes open for the occasional Black Jack from which this site takes its name. BookendsThis coral ridge extending out from Little Tobago is the most likely site to see Tarpon in Speyside. They are usually found below the white water of breaking waves |
