sharkfin reef

Similan Island No.3 - Koh Payan

The northeast features a sloping reef, the southeast a more dramatic drop-off. A series of parralel rocks resembling fallen logs are the setting for this dive site.

To the southeast is a large swim-through that provides an opening to the other side of this dive site. The marine life is more diverse there with Clown Triggerfish and schools of Batfish, Pallette Surgeonfish, Blue-faced Angelfish and Bannerfish. It's also a good place to spot passing sharks and larger rays.
