Open water - SILVER

open water plus enriched AIR EXPERIENCE

Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community.

Why PADI Open Water?
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a PADI
Discover Scuba Diving experience or are PADI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program. With our Silver package you also get the chance to dive on Enriched Air. There are many advantages to Enriched Air Diving, ask your instructor for more information or feel free to contact us.
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
  • Minimum age: 10
What will I do?
Throughout the open water course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives.
How long will it take?
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

How much does it cost?
At Wrecks and Reefs, we offer two programs with different price bands to help suit your needs and budget:

Standard - £425 FULLY INCLUSIVE

As soon as you book your course, we will send you a crew pack. You can view these materials at home, at your own pace and then meet with an instructor for further assistance and to continue with pool and open water sessions. You will be in a class of no more than 4 students to ensure quality instruction. All materials are included in this course.

  • PADI Open Water Diver Manual* or Multimedia
    * Note: For those purchasing the manual, the
PADI Open  Water Diver Video/DVD must also
      be viewed
  • Log Book
  • RDP - Wheel, table or eRDP

Private - £475 FULLY INCLUSIVE

As with the Standard course we will send you a crew pack to view at home, at your own pace. An instructor will then come to your home at a time and date convenient to you. All instruction will be on a one to one basis. Ideal for couples wishing to learn together or for those of you with busy lifestyles and/or families. (All materials are included in this course).

What is included in the price?
Courses are conducted over two weekends usually consisting of two pool sessions and two open water sessions (9 dives in all) with some classroom work. On booking the course we will send you a crew pack where you will need to do some home study before coming along, but don't worry, anything you don't understand will be covered by your instructor in the classroom sessions.  We strongly believe in performance based not time based teaching so if you need more time in the pool that is no problem at all.

Both course fees includes crew pack, DVD, equipment hire, instruction and certification. Extras include entry to the dive site (approx. £ 6.00 - £10.00  depending on location per day for two days).
